Candle dipping Dietikon: the only place that splits ages across days
Almost every Swiss offering mixes its audience: toddlers, schoolchildren and adults stand at the same pot. Dietikon does it differently – here each age group gets its own day of the week.

Dietikon separates its audiences cleanly: Thursday belongs to parents with small children (3 to 7), Friday evening to adults and teenagers from 14 who want to experiment with wax.
- ⚠️ SOURCE SITUATION: as of 08.09.2026 the Chrüzacher leisure centre does not list the dates on its own website; we read them directly in the regional Limmatstadt events calendar (not in a search-result summary). That is one step further from the organiser than every other entry on this list — a phone call before travelling is worth it.
- Parent-and-child candle dipping (ages 3 to 7): Thursdays 19 and 26 November and 3 and 10 December 2026, 15:15–17:30.
- «Experimenting with wax» (from age 14): Fridays 20 and 27 November and 4 and 11 December 2026, 17:00–21:00.

Each bar is a documented run. Dark = this session, pale = the nearest ones. Read a single date and you miss that the neighbouring village has already packed up when the wax here is only just warming.
🔎 What sets this candle-dipping session apart
The split is unique in this survey. Other places separate their audience by time of day – mornings for school classes, afternoons for everyone. Dietikon separates by day of the week: Thursday belongs to parents with three- to seven-year-olds, Friday evening to teenagers and adults from 14 who want to experiment, and Wednesday plus the weekend are open to all. Know which day is yours and you get an offering that exists nowhere else.
Friday evening is the real distinction. «Experimenting with wax» from 14, 5pm to 9pm – this is not a children's session with later hours, it is a different format. There are only a handful of adult offerings in the whole survey, and this is the only one spread across four dates rather than a single evening.
⚠️ And this entry comes with a caveat we do not hide: the Chrüzacher leisure centre does not publish the dates on its own website. We read them in the regional Limmatstadt events calendar – directly there, not from a search-result summary. That is still one step further from the organiser than any other entry in this list. A call before travelling is worth more here than elsewhere.

🎯 How to plan the visit without arriving at a cold wax pot
In Dietikon the day of the week decides who the session is for. Three points before the visit.
- 1Thursday is reserved for ages 3 to 7Four Thursday afternoons from 3.15pm to 5.30pm as a parent-and-child session. With a toddler these days are far calmer than the weekend.
- 2Friday evening is 14 and over – and runs until 9pmFour Fridays of «experimenting with wax» from 5pm to 9pm. For teenagers and adults the most interesting format in the Limmat valley; not intended for small children.
- 3Call before you go – the source is the calendar, not the houseThe leisure centre does not publish the dates itself; they appear in the regional events calendar. No other entry in this survey has a source this far from the organiser.
🗺️ Where this session sits in the season
In the canton of Zurich the dataset records 24 sessions. At 30 days, Dietikon is unusually long for a neighbourhood offering – only the Zürcher Kerzenziehen and the session on the Uetliberg run longer in the canton.
Anyone looking for an adults-only offering will otherwise only find one in the city of Zurich. Nationally the densest day is 29 November 2026, with 17 sessions at once.

Candle dipping Uetliberg →The ConvivaPlus verdict
For families in the Limmat valley, Dietikon is the region's most thoughtfully designed session: bring a toddler on Thursday, bring teenagers or come to experiment yourself on Friday. That split by day solves exactly the problem other places with mixed audiences have.
The caveat remains the source. As long as the leisure centre does not publish the dates itself, a call before travelling is wiser here than elsewhere. Anyone needing absolute reliability will find it on Hechtplatz.
Freshness note: ⚠️ The dates come from the regional Limmatstadt events calendar, not from the leisure centre's website. We read the calendar page directly, but this source is one step further from the organiser than every other entry in this survey. The basis is the ConvivaPlus-Kerzenzieh-Kalender 2026: every entry was read individually at the organiser for the ConvivaPlus survey — this ConvivaPlus verdikt rests on nothing else.

- ◆Age rather than time of day: Dietikon splits its audience across days – Thursday ages 3 to 7, Friday from 14. No other place in the survey does this.
- ◆Four adult evenings instead of one: «Experimenting with wax» runs on four Fridays until 9pm – the most extensive adult offering in the survey.
- ◆The only entry with a source caveat: the dates sit in the regional calendar, not with the house itself. We write that down rather than blurring where it came from.
