🛍️ Shopping on Sunday — what differs here
The figure carrying this page is not four, it is a season. Winterthur's trading Sunday on 22 March 2026 is, in our survey, the date furthest from Advent — and therefore a shopping Sunday without Christmas crowds. Several cantons split their Sundays expressly into two seasonal and two Advent openings; Basel-Landschaft writes it into § 7 para. 2 of its act, Solothurn into § 13 para. 2. Im März e Sunntigsverchauf — das hät mir niemert glaubt, bis ichs im Register gseh han. Und genau da isch au d Stadt am wenigschte voll.
Interessant finde ich, dass Winterthur und die Stadt Zürich im selben Kanton unterschiedliche Tage haben. Ich dachte immer, das sei kantonal geregelt. Ist es offenbar nicht.
Genau — § 5 Abs. 3 des Zürcher Ruhetagsgesetzes gibt die vier Tage der GEMEINDE, nicht dem Kanton. Winterthur wählt darum andere Daten als die Stadt Zürich, und beide sind korrekt. Der Kanton führt die Meldungen nur zusammen.
Für uns Umlandgemeinden ist der Winterthurer Termin oft wichtiger als der Zürcher. Schön, dass ihr ihn überhaupt einzeln führt — sonst steht immer nur Zürich.
