🛍️ Shopping on Sunday — what differs here
«Without preconditions» is a phrase one rarely reads in a statute, and here it carries the whole meaning.
In practice: two are near certain — but hardly more, because the hurdle is not a matter of discretion but a burden of proof. The canton of Schaffhausen therefore belongs to those that do not use up the federal ceiling of four — together with Basel-Stadt, Lucerne and Valais. And unlike them, the reason here is not a smaller number in the act but a condition that makes the rest practically unreachable.
The date itself we do not have for 2026. Permission comes from the municipal authority, nothing was published at the time of our calendar — and Neuhausen am Rheinfall or Thayngen may have different days from the town.
