Most recorded Swiss candle-dipping sessions are a room, a few pots and a weekend. Lucerne is a production line: three linked containers, eight wax pots, over 1500 kilos of beeswax in five weeks – and it has been running since 1978.

The scale produces the second peculiarity: 33 days, every day. Only the Zürcher Kerzenziehen runs longer without a break. Where Bern offers eight days and Winterthur eleven, here you have five weeks – for families with irregular weeks that is the practical difference between «we managed it» and «we missed it».
And there is a solution here to the real candle-dipping problem that almost nobody else offers: time. The association reckons on at least two hours per visit – with pure beeswax it does not go faster. Anyone who does not have that can have their unfinished candle stored free of charge in the pavilion and finish it on another day. An afternoon turns into a project spread over several visits.
