🔦 Good to know from the organiser

What the organiser spells out: prices and what happens if it rains.

In bad weather
Bei ungünstigem Wetter kann der Weg aus Sicherheitsgründen geschlossen werden; Start und Ende hängen vom Schnee ab.
  • From Sierre the funicular reaches Crans-Montana in 13 minutes (from CHF 6.80); in the resort the free shuttles 421, 431, 432, 433 and 436 go to the starting points. Parking is limited.

✨ What to expect

The trail starts a few steps from the centre, at the Etang Long roundabout or at Lac Moubra, and leads through the snowy forest. The lanterns guide you to new works of light, shows and open-air concerts, as the association puts it. All events are free and need no booking.

No other light in our survey is lit for so many nights in a row: 94 nights, from early December into March. In return it depends on the snow. Opening and closing are subject to conditions, and in bad weather the association may close the trail for safety.

How we check

Every date comes from the organiser's, the municipality's or the canton's own site — never from an aggregator, never copied over from last year. Next to each source is the date we last read it.

Something missing or changed? A note below is enough; we check it at the source.
