🛍️ Shopping on Sunday — what differs here
Thun's special case is a vocabulary problem with practical consequences.
In law it is nevertheless correct, word for word: Art. 11 para. 2 of the Bernese Trade and Industry Act allows retail shops to open on «two public holidays» — not on two Sundays. Easter Monday is a public holiday in the canton of Bern; it therefore counts against the same quota as an Advent Sunday. For us it had a consequence of its own: a guard checking «every date must be a Sunday» would have fired on this entry with good reason and still been wrong. We therefore record the reason in the dataset, not only in the text.
