Dass d Läde offe sind, isch für vill de eigentlich Grund. Am Sunntig chasch susch nüt poschte im Dorf — a dem eine Sunntig scho. Das staht sogar so uf de Tourismus-Site, aber suechsch es fascht nöd.
Der Postplatz ist klein, das muss man wissen. Es ist kein Markt, durch den man eine Stunde läuft — eher ein Platz, auf dem man eine Stunde steht. Für einen Sonntagnachmittag ist das genau richtig.
Danke — eine Standzahl publiziert der Veranstalter nicht, darum steht bei uns keine. Was er nennt, sind die beleuchteten Sterne, die Weihrauchkränze und die offenen Läden; genau diese drei Angaben geben wir weiter.
Elf Tage vorher ist der Chlöösler, das ist ein ganz anderer Anlass. Wer nur «Weihnachtsmarkt Appenzell» googelt, landet irgendwo dazwischen und kommt am falschen Tag.
