Real candles instead of LEDs: volunteers light the lanterns every evening, four “elves” a night — the organisers speak of 132 elves — and they then run like a string of lights along the lake from the Hirsgarten through Villette Park.
Good to know- Opening on Sat 28 Nov at 6 pm with the mayor and the Schlossgruess yodel club; music on Saturdays 5, 12, 19 and 26 Dec at 6 pm; on 5 Dec at 5 pm the Samichlaus visits the Villette. Closing on 1 Jan 2027 at 6 pm with free mulled wine “while it lasts”.
